I have property, businesses and 2 pains in the rear end who I love dearly and have turned out OK thank goodness.
They don't always like having me as a mother (I don't always like being their mother) but they are nice people, never been in trouble, got good jobs and are basically happy, free spirited thinkers who frequently tell me I am wrong on most things in life because they know best. (sigh)

I can't wear a watch, it gives me a rash. I must have an allergic reaction to metal. Same with jewelry.

Tell me about it.
BTW the little boxer pup is probably bigger than one of my dogs.
I have an allergic reaction to costume type jewellery...I'm OK with gold and platinum.
My daughter's never been a problem...we have always been very close and I miss her (she lives in Canada).

My kids are not a problem although moving to Oz and the dramas that followed did a lot of damage to us as a family and we've had to try and resolve lots of hurt feelings.
My son and his fiance are living with her mother and have been for 5 years. I recently told them that they should get their own place and start investing in themselves instead of paying off the MIL bills (not a good situation but won't bore you)
They are both bright kids and in good jobs so why am I horrified and shocked that they took my advice and are now borrowing $450,000 to buy a land and house package as a first home???? (That's not what I suggested). Anyway, try as i might to tell them YES, it's a good idea to buy now, NO it's not the best start to borrow so much, they won't listen. They are jumping in and buying the $450,000 new build.
We can't tell them so we'll try and help them by not letting them get into anymore debt. We're giving them all our furniture when we get on the plane to come home.
