Hello - I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I hope someone can help me with this little issue. I have lived in Spain for the past 7 years and wish to locate to Ireland (Cork area), so I am having a good old clearout.
Can someone tell me please what size sat-dish I would need to get sky/UK channels as I don't really want to bring my Spanish 2.4m dish as it's really heavy and takes up a lot of space.
Can you get UK and local telly with a standard aerial? Hope you can help.
Thanks
Woodbug

Sky (satellite) or UPC (cable) are you best bets over here, Sky will put up their own dish - you can get all UK TV via Sky on a basic package (including Channel 5 if you have the right code).
Don't know what you'd get through a standard ariel as I haven't tried it but analogue TV is going out the door in October and the switch to digital comes in so I don't think you'd be able to get anything through the ariel anyway.

Thanks Horus, Very helpful, I will get rid of my 'Jodrell Bank' satellite in Spain, that will save me a few quid in transport.
Cheers,

You`ll need a zone 2 dish for that area - they are 60cm and will get you all the FTA (free to air) channels just by pointing it at Astra 28.2
Of course you can pay a subscription for the full Sky package if you prefer
