Default Process for bringing my car from UK when I emigrate

I’ve worked out that I can bring my car with me when I emigrate to ROI in a couple of months, and that I won’t have to pay tax or duty because I’ve had it more than six months. But I’m having a hell of a time working out who I need to tell. Customs seem to need forms from someone before they can issue their forms. Tax office need customs forms! Has anyone done this and could you advise in what order to approach (and can it be arranged before I turn up at customs?). Thank you.
