Looking to move
My daughter would like to move to Ireland and buy a house. The problem is she will need a mortgage and has been told that she will have to be resident in Ireland for 6 months to qualify as she has no Irish financial history and although she is British she has lived in France for 6 years.
Because of this she is looking to rent for as along as it takes but probably for at least 6 months.
She is finding it very difficult getting information from agents as she is not in the country. All they say is when you are here come into the office and we will see what we have. She would like to have a house in place prior to moving.
Anyone know of a detached house in a nice rural setting that will accept pets and is available for 6 months to a year. The cherry on top would be that it would also be for sale at the end of that period so that she could buy it and hence only have to move once.
Very frustrating at the moment.

Unfortunately that's the way it is. Unless you want to move in straight away, agents here just won't bother and many want the personal contact.
It will also depend on area and some properties are available and gone the next day, so they won't wait. I assume she will have a job or regular income, otherwise the 6 months might not help either. Banks usually want a permanent job contract and the 6 months are required to see if the person can manage their finances.
Ireland is a big country, so which area is she looking to buy?
A quick look on daft and you can rent a smaller older cottage very rural for €500 but anywhere near the city prices and demand will go up.
