but you have to add the cost of the cab ride and only the first one is near to
the same price.

A short cab ride there and back, and it adds to the cost, and it's not
in the airport. For Gatwick, it works out a very good deal, and any of
the affordable hotels there are a few miles from the terminals.
The URL's you quoted for Heathrow showed very little availablity close
to £50 for overnight rates, and you can add at least £10 on top of that
for the taxi return fare in some cases.
