Yet ANOTHER Thalys question.....

We were planning on going Comfort 1 on the Amsterdam-Paris route of the Thalys, but I just discovered that the date we are travelling is a holiday so there is no meal served in Comfort 1 on that day. Since the fare is quite a bit more, is Comfort 1 that much nicer than Comfort 2? Are the seats any larger in 1 than 2 (F-in-law is quite large) ? Also, is a taxi difficult to get in Paris at the station? Comfort 1 will arrange a taxi to be waiting.
Thanks for answering yet another question from me!

Is that Gare Du Nord? In which case, no. It's all highly organised.
You will have to queue, but the system seems to work well.

Comfort 1 is pretty foo-foo with complimentary drinkies served on boarding.
electrically adjustable seats, and so on (even when there's no meal
service). However, the Thalys trains are the same type of rolling stock as
the TGV sets in France and even in Comfort 2 they're still pretty pleasant.
Seats aren't really that different in either class in terms of size. If you
get 3 seats round a table (in a bay of 4) you usually have plenty of room...
how large is large? I'm, 220, 6ft1 and have been quite happy on these
seats.
If you're arriving in Paris on a holiday I don't think you'll have much
problems getting a taxi at Gare du Nord - I've always noticed several
waiting, any day of the week (unless it's raining of course!)
