Why fly first class?

It sounds like the newest security requirements makes the expense of
flying first class into a fools choice.
If you can't take any luxuries with you. Why not just take a handful
of sleeping pills and fly tourist?

So you won't have the bad-breath fatty next to you snore in your ear
and the bratty kid behind you kicking the back of your seat? =R=

A lot of the people who fly first class either have so much money they
don't care, or they have their company pay for it.

Because in first class they provide you with all the luxuries. There
is no need to bring them on board.

And hpw do you prevent the same from happening in first
class? SFAIK, they do not refuse first class passage to
either, so long as the correct fare is paid.

Errm, the changes to what may be brought onto the aircraft will make
business and first class /more/ desirable, since cattle class passengers
won't have the items that they need to make it bearable...

The guy next to you is in a bigger seat as are you and the pitch
between seats is large enough that the kids feet wont reach
When I stump up my hard earned cash for business or first
class its for the extra room not the fancy food or wine.

The biggest advantage of first class is room to tilt the seat back and
sleep. I can sleep in first class, but not in coach or (usually)
business class.
Of course, you're paying quite a premium for the legroom.

Back in the days when Walt Disney was alive, everyone who had to fly
for the company flew first class. Those days are gone, of course.

Some employers always pay business class even when the flights are one
class cattle truck quality only.
