While I recognize that 'Mxsmanic' is nutter, be careful about becoming
oversimplistic. There is a huge middle ground between "violent films
_cause_ violent behaviour" and "these things have _no_ _effect_".

No doubt _everything_ that one sees has _some_ effect, but (to the best
of my knowledge) there is little or no good evidenct to suggest that
watching violence or crime via film or television does anything to cause
violent or criminal behaviour. Certainly living in an actual environment
of violence and criminal behaviour may lead to such behaviour, but it
would seem as if viewing fiction has no direct causal effect. (Viewing
_non_-fiction violence an crime may have interesting second degree
effects -- eg: creating fear which could create violence -- but this is
plainly not the same thing.)

Additionally, the "advertising" argument is at best weak. Note that
advertisers spend millions _specifically_ _tailoring_ their pitches to
have a specific effect -- yet even so, they frequently _fail_. Film and
television producers attempt to tailor their products to a completely
different purpose (something that people will enjoy watching) -- but
again, they frequently fail. Which illustrates the fact that the
"effects" of images are not straightforward.

Famous last words.

A significant interest in pornography among prepubescent children (beyond
simple and temporary curiosity) is often an indication that they have been
sexually approached by older individuals, and may merit investigation. It
does not develop spontaneously, since sex is fundamentally uninteresting and
even repulsive to anyone who has not gone through puberty.

Congratulations, you pass the ultra-pedantic test.

    >Why _not_ remove traffic signals? They are a restriction on freedom.

As an aside, I reckon the London traffic would run a lot better if 3/4
of all traffic controls were removed, every time they put in extra
traffic lights it creates a new gridlocked area.

You decided to point out two unremarkable typos. Why did your bother?

(Go on, go for the trifecta Marie)
