Where/when is best to sell my ¥en on UK High St?

Hi, I have a fairly large amount of Japanese Yen to sell, and would like
some advice on who on the UK High Street (or elsewhere) typically offers the
best rates.
I can't seem to find any sort of online comparison tool, which seems
strange.
Also when is a good time, given recent market trends?
Thanks!

I used to work in Tokyo and then returned to the US, so I dealt with
the same situation. Those public exchanges with electronic windows
showing prices for different currencies usually have terrible rates and
high commissions. Go to a bank where you already have an account, and
ask to exchange the yen - they should give you a fair rate with at most
a 1% commission and 1-2% buy-sell spread.

Thanks. Any advice about the market and whether to sell them now or wait a
bit?

Unload the yen ASAP. Japan's manufacturing-focused economy is very
sensitive to oil prices, which are unlikely to fall any time soon, and
the Japanese election in eight days is likely to disappoint investors
who are hoping for a parliament committed to serious and immediate
economic reform.
