Where to stay in Paris?

I'm going to be in Paris for one night, Thursday 8/10, and would like
recommendations on what part of town to get a hotel. When I travel I like
to hit a city's bar and lounge scene, and would like somewhere within
walking distance of the best area of town for this. I'm not looking for
big cheesy discos and nightclubs, but rather cool lounges and bars with a
good vibe and feel. Please let me know what parts of Paris are best for
this, thanks!

I think you're worrying about nothing. Since it's only for one solitary
night, I would stay anywhere in Paris where there is easy access to the
Metro. If you were going to stay say for a week, then maybe the location
would be important because having to travel long distances could get old
very quickly. But for 1 night, I really don't think it matters much.
