Nhaa, Norwegians don't look for cultural stuff, they also seek the attractive
Italian or Greek people, It's just that they're more polite than Swedish people,
so they pretend to be interested in cultural stuff when all they are really
interested in is ...

No bloody way this "Rudvar Alswill" character is a Nor- wegian citizen who has been
raised and/or is living in Norway. He *claims* to be a Norwegian, but has proved to
be utter clueless about Norwegian culture and society in many debates on
soc.culture.nordic.

He also has some weird hangups about sex and rambles on and on about how bad
Swedish women are - I'd say the odds are he is some kind of hypenation-american
that isn't getting any. And that is probably a good thing for the future of Homo
Sapiens, I'd say.

My Neanderthal friends enjoy hanging around the

Bullshit.

Norwegian _are_ actually interested in culture.

Swedes are only intersted in booze. They go to Australia to behave like cangaroos! Or
to Thailand to behave like drunk rabbits... :b

I see, That's why they go to the beaches and lay in the sun topless all day
in Greece...

(Hmm, I'm in the wrong business! I'm going to change my profession to something more
cultural, like a Painter or Renaissance Specialist)

Now seriously, I also think Norwegians are great people, too bad none of them come to
visit us here in Israel any more, but who can blaim them..

I know.

Just for the moment no-one is travelling anywhere.

It is because of the football cup.

Not really, more like because of the shitty situation here, with the terror attacks.

- Interview was conducted by Dagblad and Swedish Radio.
-

That's true - but a "Bald Devil's Advocate" can read anything into a few lines and
some interviews. Bald, after scratching your head (as Norwegians seem to do very
frequently)

For one thing, the question was "where would you like to go, if you could"? You
obviously don't answer Greece or Italy, or France - since you've already been there.
But Australia has great nature and countless sights, and expensive and distant enough
to deter a family to actuallt go there. But not to wish to go there.

Norwegians, on the other hand, having stayed "going walkabout" (as they only seem to
do in the backwards Australian wilderness and Norway) - and clubbing some seal babies
to death, now want to have a charter holiday in Europe. Other countries are already
past that stage.

Yes, Thailand is popular with perverts. That does in no way mean taht all (or even a
large percentage) of Swedes (or any other nationality) going there are perverts.

- One important group I left out were Australians. Many boast about spreading
- all kinds of sexually transmitted diseases when they return home. They have
- great fun in bars getting drunk telling people this and every ther seems
- to find it funny. I heard this many times during my two year in NSW and
- Queensland.

Which diseases did you catch?

Not necessarily. He's a Norwegian. That's enough.

But reading it as irony it's acyually quite funny Norwegians go to cultural places
like Kos in Greece to booze and screw their eyeballs out, and they go yo other
cultural countries on the list to booze and...

Our excuses to Norway for falling for his scam, then. All "Norwegian Jokes" are
usually done in good humor, and seems to stem from one "stupid" thing: The Norwegian
language sounds kinda like a kid speaking Swedish - a bit similar to when Irish
people speak English, the accent sounds a tad childish.

I don't know how much of an inferiority complex Norwegians have had, but they ought
to easily get rid of that now. And claim that skiing is much more interesting than
football, hockey and golf...

- Bullshit.

Same to you.

- Norwegian _are_ actually interested in culture.

Not more than Swedes or other comparable nationalities. If you don't count Seal
clubbing or Whale hunting culture...

- Swedes are only intersted in booze.
- They go to Australia to behave like cangaroos!
- Or to Thailand to behave like drunk rabbits... :b

Your ":b" is a bit lame - there was no fun in your remarks, nor were they in
any way true.

Sweden HAD a big problem around ten years ago with youngsters travelling to
Austria on "Ski holidays" but only boozing around and later thrown out and banned.
And drinking too much and making trouble in Mallorca and Greece - or other
cultural places.

Well, most Swedes have grown up now and want to travel to more interesting places for
nature, sights and such. Taxi drivers in Magaluf now keep baseball bats in their cars
to defend them againts English people (not "Brits" - Scottish people hate to be
clumped together with "those English that can't take a stiff") - from a BBC program I
watched in London. And the problems in "The Alps" now mainly are with the Danish. And
Norwegians.

But - "Hate campaigns" aside - most Swedes, Norwegians, Danish, Australians,
Americans are "Nice People" (tm). Even the Germans are much better now - if it only
weren't for those damn towels on the sunbeds...

I think he saw a dwarf-tossing video from a bar and logically extended it to apply to
all Aussies

I don't suppose it would help to try speaking Swedish either, since we have
mostly learned it from watching all those excellent children's movies and TV
shows (Pippi etc)...

The only interesting team sport is floorball (innebandy), where the Swedes have the
unfair advantage of having played it a lot longer than us.
