The first thing I'd do is get out of Athens and visit the Islands. That's just
me though. Some people enjoy Athens, but I did not.

The traffic is nasty, but as an Italian, you would be used to that I
guess!

Seriously though, Athens is not a nice capital, and the Parthenon is
only of interest for a few hours. It's usually hot, congested, and
quite ugly. The islands really are the special parts of Greece.

It seemed as if the fellow was trolling around but if he is serious here is
a start
http://www.athensguide.com/
I relied on his extensive write-up prior to visiting Sifnos this summer and
was pleasantly suprised to find his hotel recommendations and place
descriptions very accurate.

Athens is a hole. Spend half a day seeing the ruins and then go
immediately to the islands. Go to Ios if you want to party, Rhodes
for history, or Santorini to relax.

Why are you going to Greece if you don't know what's there and can't even be
bothered to look it up?
