Default Versailles this december

We are going to be in paris for some days this december and we were
considering visiting the Chateaux de Versailles.
How is it on december? is it still nice?

different -wintry :-)

In the grounds there are no flowers and I'd guess the fountains are
off.

It was when I was there one December. It depends what you are looking
for.

I guess you will be inside most of the time..
as there are now two buildings to visit..
I do not know whether the fountains show is still functioning in December.

And the statues are covered up.

Yes - fewer tourists, and I like sitting outside in the cold to drink
hot coffee, as long as you have a good coat.

Fountains are usually drained to prevent frost damage in winter.

Many of the statues are also covered to protect them from ice damage.
