Default Trip to Greece - Internet Dial-up needed

Hi everyone.

I am planing trip to Greece, to Rhodos.
I need to take my laptop with me, and I need
Internet connection. What is simplest way
connect to Internet in Greece?

(In my country, Poland, it's simple: I need only telephon plug. I dial
0202122, user:PPP, pass:PPP and I have internet. Price=local phone )

What is public dialup internet numer in greece?

THANKS for any answear.

P.S.
I heard about pre-paid internet cards... how it work in Greece?

The simplest way is at an internet cafe. I'm not aware of any simple
way to access dial-up in Greece, though I'll be happy to be proved
wrong.

Actually, quite a while back ('96), while in Delphi I accessed the
internet from my laptop by dialling into the Harvard server in the US!
It worked OK, though I found the connection cut off a lot- and Greeks
told me it was a common problem. I don't know if it has improved or not.

Depending on the amount of data needed to send/receive, it might not be
a bad idea to get a local SIM card and use GPRS via a mobile phone and
bluetooth/etc. Certainly convenient, and the mobile/GPRS coverage in
Greece is very good.

The infrastructure in Greece is pretty sucky.
If you really can't work in an internet cafe (they are literally
everywhere), you might have a problem. Maybe look at Matt Barrett's site
www.greektravel.com, and see if he has any info on that. Some years ago,
you could email Matt and he would write you right back. Not sure if that's
still the case. In any event, the site is worth looking at. He also has
www.greecetravel.com. Some differences.

Have a great trip to Rodos. If it's worth anything, a couple of years ago,
we were there and stayed in the old town (only place worth seeing there
anyhow) and I could walk to a really nice internet cafe. Cheap too.
