Danmark kan jeg hjaelp med! Sorry about the English keyboard. I always used a Danish

How long do you have? What kind of budget are you on?

I'm planning to take a coach tour with Trafalgar in Sept. which takes 15 days and
includes Denmark (Copenhagen, Odense,Aalborg). Norway (Stavanger, Bergen Alesund,
Lillehammer, Oslo) and Stockholm.

I prefer a tour like this to the hassle of making one's own arranagements. There
wil be considerable free time in each place to get away from the group & explore
on your own.

Scandinavia is terribly expensive, and this tour offers excellent rates, with all
breakfasts and about 11 dinners.

Hi

just a point.

Scandinavia is cheaper now because the currencies (especially the SEK) are weaker.

As an example -

1/1/1996 GBP1 = SEK 10
Today GBP1 = SEK 15

A blow out meal with wine in Oslo still seems expensive though !

Well..where do you want to start..I'll be in Copenhagen most of the summer....and we
are taking a road trip up through Norway spending several days in the Geiranger
area...also visiting Oslo, Alesund, Stavanger...places like Preikestolen etc...

I am not sure what type of budget you are planning. There is everything from hostels
to high end hotels in Copenhagen...clubs or museums are your thing? Can you give a
few more details?

whatever you decide Scandinavia is always a great place to visit...or
live...

Enjoy

First of all, the original poster is not very specific on what she desire.
Scandinavia is a big place, and very different so please be more specific.

To this poster - 15 days is an awfull short time for so much. I would not recommend
it. Copenhagen is about 4 days, 2 days for Odense, 1 day in Ribe, 2 days in East
Jutland (Grenå, Ebeltoft, Randers etc.), 2 days in the West and 2 days in the fra
north. But then you still miss out on Bornholm. And that is just Denmark...

Scandinavia is expensive. Stay in hostels. You might get by for 15$ for a bed in a
nice clean place. If you have a car B&B is also an option (VERY different from B&B in
USA). Thats fairly cheap and you meat locals. Just look for the sign "Zimmer Frei"
(well, mostly german tourists in DK *s*). Eating out in restaurants is expensive.
Find "all you can eat" for app. 10$. Remember that drinks are terribly expensive.

Actually, the Norwegian Krone is very strong against the Euro for the time being..
(7.50) That's great news for Norwegians travelling to Europe, but a pain in the ass
for Norwegian exporters and visitors to Norway from Euroland. NOK is also relatively
strong against the US dollar.

Recommendations for Norway? The Northern parts. Lofoten Islands and Tromsø..
