Default Travelling in Germany - Konstanz to Munich

What are the public transport options for travelling from Konstanz to
Munich? How about taking a train to Ulm from Konstanz and then changing
to a train to Munich there? Since there would be two of us, I was
wondering if there was a possibility of using Lander ticket on either
or both of the legs? At this point in time, there was special priced
tickets on the bahn.de available for my intended date of journey.
However, if I don't book in advance, what options do I have?

Thanks in advance.

As to using Laender tickets, two German states are involved,
Baden-Wuerttemberg and Bavaria so you would need a ticket for both. It
is possible to take a ferry across the Bodensee as part of your
journey.

The Bayern ticket is valid from Ulm to Munich, don't know if it's worth
to get a Baden Lander ticket for the stint Konstanz-Ulm. But if you
have the time I would suggest boat Konstanz-Lindau and train
Lindau-Munich (Bayern Ticket).

You would need one for Baden Wuerttemberg and one for Bavaria.

What about this?
3 hours by ship from Konstanz to Lindau (in Bavaria):

The old town of Lindau is an island, ferry port and train station are
located on it:

Then another 3 hours from Lindau to Munich thru scenic Allgu, sit
right side for mountain view.

Should be a nice day trip.

I have to ride this way some times a year. The fastest link is the
catamaran from Kostanz to Friedrichshafen and from there by train to
Munich. Takes about 4 1/2 hours. If you ask for a train ticket Konstanz
- Munich you will get this.

Is it possible to buy the Bavaria Lnder ticket from a ticket machine
in Konstanz (or any other place in Baden-Wrttemberg )? If so, is
there a way to validate the Bavaria ticket on an Entwerter in
Baden-Wrttemberg at the start of my journey?

Does taking the ferry make the journey time substantially longer? If
not, I would like to take it for the experience. Is the Lnder ticket
valid on the ferry as well or do I need to buy a separate ticket for
the ferry?

Sounds like an interesting option. By the way, I hope this does not
involve a border crossing. I was looking at the ferry options on
bahn.de site and realized that some of them involved border crossings
(I assume it refers to crossing to Swiss territory). Since I will be
arriving in Germany with a Schengen Tourist Visa (and no Swiss visa), I
guess I wont be able to take any route that involves crossing to the
Swiss side.

It involves no border crossing (well, you cross the "border" to Bavaria,
but even Bavaria accepts Schengen visas - grudgingly. ;-)

BTW: The Lindau link does not work, it contains a stupid session id.
So you have to enter
Lindau (Bodensee)
into Field "Ort".

The german / swiss border is quite relaxed. If you take bike rides
around Konstanz, you won't know when you are in Germany or Switzerland.
It's more a "have a passport with you, or not" frontier.
And you don't have to immigrate and emigrate Switzerland if you stay on
board of the ship from Konstanz to Lindau when it stops in Switzerland.

Also there is no border control when you enter Bavaria from rest of
Germany.
At least at the moment ;-)
