I think like me, you are one or two from the start that we
"civilised", when it got too much, we started killing them?
It happens every time America does something odd, this ng is a
Bushometer.

I almost always kill political threads, and did so even before the
election. I follow politics keenly but I have zero interest in the
kind of slagging that it always degenerates into on this newsgroup.
Not only that, after this election I was so demoralized I didn't even
want to read news accounts of it. I'm slowly beginning to read short
articles about it in publications that I can rely on not to crow about
the results, for instance the New Yorker.

Just try. Wont take you (much) more time than this original posting.

I would hope that political awareness is in reality at a higher
level than that demonstrated by the various and vacuous
republican trolls that crosspost here.

I'm sure it is. But anyone with a level of political awareness greater
than that of the common cockroach will most probably choose an appropriate
newsgroup to start a political discussion, so we won't read their arguments
here.
