Given that its my first time travelling to Hamburg, it would be nice
to have some tips on what's nice to do and any highlights that one
might want to share

There's an area called the Reeperbahn (sp?) that is just
loaded with entertainment.

Or you might enjoy a harbor cruise ;-)
