Train announcement boards

Train announcement boards
If I am in a smaller city, say Eisenach, and I want to travel to Leipzig
on a train that eventually travels to Dresden, what will the train
announcement board read? Will the stated destination of the train be
"Dresden", "Leipzig, Dresden", "Erfurt, Weimar, Leipzig, Dresden",
or is it somewhat inconsistent? Obviously there is only so much
room for words, but I want to know the usually included destinations.

STR it's inconsistent, save it will always mention the final
destination, But also STR that it's not usually ever a problem because
every train run / route has a number, which the boards invariably show
and which can be crosschecked either by reference to your ticketing
documentation or the departure schedules on display on the platform.
No doubt others much more knowledgeable will correct me if remembered
wrong !

The final destination is indicated, as is any major city along the way.
It's not consistent.
There's usually a timetable showing all the stops, so you don't have to
worry about taking the wrong train.

Don't think the available hardware on the kind of stations / places
you cite as exmples once incorporated too much idisplay information or
sophistication, but, as such places are tending to get rebuilt and
modernized, all this should change or already has changed - as regards
all but the smallest rail stations,

It does happen that the final destination is mentioned merely as a
footnote (or not even at all) when this destination can be reached
through another route in less time (e.g. Stuttgart-Bielefeld or
Bruchsal-Germersheim).

Look on the departures notice , note the train number which often be
on the indicator board .Also pick up the free timetable leaflet and
of course you can ask if not sure .
