I had such an experience in Prague. A quoted fare of 300 Kc became 400
Kc when we arrived at the destination. I didn't go into dispute mode
until the bags were out of the car, and I then relied on the fact that
the money he wanted was in my pocket, and I wasn't prepared to take it
out.

There are many good things about Prague, but the two main exceptions
that I experienced are cab drivers who try to rip you off, and
restaurant servers who pad bills (not all of them, of course, but
quite a few that I encountered).

Some other visitors have had problems with on-street money changers
and with honey-traps in night-clubs.

In a transparent plastic bag, silly. Haven't you been watching the news?

So you travel with nothing? Just buy everything when you get to
Prague, including the bag?

Why even travel with an empty bag, when bags are so cheap in Prague?

Sure, if you provide 5 USD's worth of service.

i dont agree with tipping --- they chose their job and agreed the wages so
why should you give them more for just following their chosen occupation

I think you live in a different world to the rest of us if you
think that taking a bag out of a car boot (trunk) is worth
5 dollars.

To me it's worth an absolute max of 5 cents.

The "rest of us"? Plenty of people I know will tip up to $5 (I said
$2-5) for each bag handled by a driver. If you are a backpacker of
course not. But there are other types of travelers in this world.
