I haven't flown out of Heathrow for ages, but I can report on Manchester
and Liverpool. I found Manchester easy even a week after the 'security'
scare in August. They have a lot of security staff and are efficient-
less efficient with entry though- both passport control and luggage.
Liverpool seem to have taken longer to recover. The problem with
Liverpool IMO is that it is a rapidly growing airport, and can't be
faffed getting the extra security staff. It's not terrible though- 15
minute wait maybe, at most. Barcelona was really cumbersome last
Saturday, having to put stuff into bags etc.
Based on that, I'd have thought that Heathrow was better, but it
obviousy isn't 'normal' in a pre-August sense.

Yes it is a Lufthansa flight. I may have the option of catching the
9:15AM flight to Hamburg, but I kind of doubt I will make it,
especailly if we have snow here in Canada. I think I will find a
shower, get cleaned up and have a few beers while reading a book in an
Airport pub. Has anyone been into the Servisair lounge at Terminal 2?
Is it worth 18P?
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Then in that case and if AC offers the earlier flight as a through
booking, it might make sense to book the 9:15AM flight. AC and LH are
Star Alliance, if the AC flight is so delayed that you miss the
connection, they'll put you on the next flight - the 15:15.
It's a win-win situation..
