Default Are there good day tour companies in Paris? Please advise.

We bought a Viking Cruise from Avignon up the Rhone River starting
a week from today and we also bought a three night extension in Paris
as my wife has wanted to see Paris for many years. As our time in
Paris is limited, my French is limited and my wife est ne parle pas Francais,
I would like to consider buying a couple of English language day tours that
cover Paris and/or environs. Multi-day guided tours do not appeal to me, but I
have had extremely good experiences with some day tour companies. In Dublin
two years ago a couple of "Over The Top" tours made our stay there and in
the states we have had some really excellent GrayLine tours in Nashville and
Seattle.
I would be most grateful for any positive advice on the choice of a tour
company or two in Paris and also what tours with them have been found to be
good.
I know that some of you find the idea of tours anathema and if you do just
ignore moi sil vous plait. And please don't let Bill O'Reilly know we are
going to France.

Are you interested in a bicycle tour of the city by chance?

Jerome,

Check out Paris walks at:
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/ParisWalking/ - we went on several
of their walks and one of their day trips during our time in Paris and
considered them good value.

The two big tour operators in Paris are Cityrama - www.cityrama.com and
Paris Vision - www.parisvision.com . You can see all their tours, prices,
etc. on their sites. I've never taken one of their tours, but since
Cityrama is a Gray Line affiliate, I would imagine they offer a quality
product as far a group tours go. There are a couple of "hop-on/hop-off"
buses too: Les Cars Rouges -
http://www.123paris.net/tours/les-cars-rouge.html and L'Open Tour -
http://www.123paris.net/tours/paris-lopen-tour.html . There are also
various walking tours available: Paris àPied - http://www.parisapied.com/
is one company.
Bon voyage!

I would be interested, but my wife would not. Thanks for the idea, though.
