Actually the strike was planned by the union of government employees, it
did not originate from the air traffic controllers and it (probably)
affected more than air travel. The local media generally didn`t paid
attention to it so I guess it didnt cause significant problems. As for
the say off, I can`t tell. When in strike, the ATC people actually stay
at their posts and just allow only one flight per destination per day.

As for the economic impact, any obstruction of normal operations is
gonna cost money to the airlines, even if its not high season yet.
Strange as it sounds though, both major airlines (Olympic and Aegean)
are making money at this time.

Most people here are against the war, 94% according to a recent poll.
