St. Davids Hotel

Hi everyone,
I am visiting London this coming June with some friends. I heard that
St. Davids Hotel is a decent place to stay - its not too expensive,
clean, convenient and near Paddington Station (14-20 Norfolk Square).
I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this hotel.
I looked around online before posting, but the only thing I could
find are very positive posts but all from one guy back in 1996. Also,
is this a good area to stay in? Safe - lots to do, etc?
Thanks so much!

'Fraid I don't know the hotel itself. The Paddington area is fine,
perfectly safe (given all the usual big-city caveats). Not a lot of major
visitor attractions in the immediate vicinity, but convenient for
Hyde Park; plenty of restaurants/pubs; and a short ride, or a medium-long
walk, to the West End.

I have stayed in this hotel many times = depending on which part of
the hotel you're in will depend on the room. all in all - the rooms
are decent enough and they serve a really good full-English breakfast.
I love the location because it's so convenient to everything and there
are plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood. Across from the hotel
is Norfolk Square - a small park and about a 5-10 minute walk away is
Hyde Park. The owners of the hotel are very nice - I have always been
satisfied w/my stay there. Much luck and have fun!
