It's got about 7,000 nuraghes, stone towers, some of which date from
1800BC.

I don't know. From the bit of it I saw on a sailing holiday, the coast line is
nice but I wasn't impressed with what was on the land. I found the south of
Corsica much nicer to visit.

I don't know. From the bit of it I saw on a sailing holiday, the coast line is
nice but I wasn't impressed with what was on the land. I found the south of
Corsica much nicer to visit.

Personally, I like the unspoiled nature and the dramma of mountains
going straight into the turqoise sea. The area called Marina Orosei is
especially beautiful, IMHO.
The beaches are lovely, white sands, very nice for a family with small
children.
Also, local food is great
The island is huge so you can explore, too. Nuraghes are kind of
interesting.
The things I *don't* like is the price of the ferry (almost 500 Euro
return ticket for a car and a cabin for 2 adults and a 3 year old; it
is almost cheaper to fly and rent a car there than to go by your own
car and take a ferry) and how crowded it can get if you go during
Ferragosto.
For Roman and Greek architecture lovers, Sicily is probably a much
better choice.

Haven't decided where we'll stay yet, though I'd probably better get
moving on that. Probably two different places, with the first not being
too far away from the airport (Alghero) as our flight arrives late in
