Why would you guess that? Do American places advertise in several
languages?

Yes, they frequently do, even when only directing that advertising to
an American audience.

And naturally, if they advertise only in English, that means that they
only accept English-speaking customers, right?

I should have said "desire", not "accept"...

Following up on myself...

I think anyone who posts a spam in French to a newsgroup largely
conducted not in French can be assumed to not be very desirous of
having clientele who are not Francophone. Just as anyone who posted an
ad in English in, say, a French-language Quebec magazine can be
presumed to not really be anxious to have monolingual Quebecois
clientele, depsite his choice of advertising medium.

Is this not a tad arrogant? Most English people learn French at school
to some extent.

Many other Europeans speak some French. Or do they not matter?

Why? I see no reason to think that they would not be quite happy to
accept Tagalog-speaking clientele. Is this the primary "target"
market? Probably not. But that hardly means that others are not
accepted (and very probably even encouraged).

And this, of course is silly. Dave was discussing the issue of French
_speaking_ clientele. If someone speaks French (no matter how or where
they might have learned it), then they are indeed French speaking (by
definition).

And we have, from time to time, had posts here in German, Dutch,
Spanish, Italian, Swedish.... (which usually drew repiles in the same
language). Just because most posts here are in English (largely for the
convenience of us "linguistically challenged" Americans) doesn't mean
that only English-speaking people post here! (And for many who do,
English is a second or third language, not their native tongue.)

As you see, be.immo is a belgian newsgroup for IMMO
in BELGIUM.
Belgium, 65% of the people peaking Dutch, is a tolerant
country but respect is needed : only Immo in Belgium and
NOT from around the world.
Although most of the posts are in Dutch, other languages are
welcomed IF...they refers to BELGIAN IMMO.
Everybody did understand, the monolanguist-French also ???
Alsoace is not situated in Belgium.
Go to a travel-site to prmote your business....thank you.
