I guess in that case the lady ought to be complaining to Aer Rianta the
owner/operator of Dublin Airport not the airline in this case.

The mystery of why the said lady started crying is still with us, but
possibly the way Ryan Air's check-in staff handled the situation. That
comes purely down to customer service skills....

In the space of seven days I flew four return flights with Ryanair, all day
trips from London Stansted. I flew to Denmark, Sweden, Belgium and Dublin.
ALL of these flights were on time, I got my preferred window seat, the seats
were comfortable enough, flight crew were great (although the pilot on the
Arhus flight pronouncing it "arse" and giggling worried me a little) and the
total cost of these combined return flights was less than £140 (ukp). I
actually had more grief getting to and from Stansted than I did with the
flights!

I have heard the horror stories of how Ryanair treats disabled people. The
only experience I have of this is when returning from Dublin. We were asked
to board by the rear steps whilst Ryanair staff carried eight wheelchair
bound people up the front steps. I heard no complaints from those wheelchair
bound people, nor the other passengers, and thanks to Ryanair's staff we
were only twelve minutes late departing and actually arrived early.

All of this of course, demonstrates that my experiences of Ryanair have been
positive. I cannot therefore comment on how Ryanair treat people when
things do go wrong.

Paul
BTW thanks to applefares.com for giving me the facility to find all those
cheap fares!

It's fairly obvious that "Caroline Staunton" <[email protected] is
based in Ireland. You don't have all that choice in Ireland.

Ryanair are a fantastic airline. Yes, I've had problems with them, but no
more than with British Airways, Alitalia or Virgin. Remember, they are a
budget airline, it usually costs more to park you car at the airport than it
does to fly with Ryanair so lets not give them a hard time.

Fees and taxes largely go to a thing called "the government". So the cost
of the wheelchair comes out of the £100...

Has it occurred to you that it may cost more to fly to the USA than, say,
between Britain and Ireland?

There are companies at the airports which provide passenger services and
these are contracted by the airlines as the needs arise.

BAA runs the airport operations not passenger services, passengers are
the customers of the airlines.

Most people think that wheelchairs should be provided free of charge at airports. They don't really care if BAA,passenger services,or the airlines themselves provide them,as long as they are available.Someone should not be penalised or discriminated against because they are disabled.

Not always the case.
It's quite common to pay £171 or more for flights from the UK to Ireland.I
once flew London to Miami for £99 return. Not everyone searches for cheapies.

price ....

I also think that it will be politically correct if you open a site of all sort of opinions about Ryanair services. I personally think that this airline gave the chance to people (like me) who has very little money to visit some places in Europe like London - Frankfurt - Brussels with 20 euro.
I thinks it's just great!

Can I just add that I've flown Ryanair perhaps
a dozen times in the past few years and consider
it one of the wonders of the modern age?

No, I have nothing to do with Ryanair. I've just
been able to get from a to b for ridiculously cheap
with none of the horror stories that you seem to hear.

Just my two European cents,

P.
