Reykjavik Restaurant
We are looking for a NON TOURIST TYPE eating place in the city of
Reykjavik
that is known to have a really good Icelandic menu. Any and all
recommendations would be appreciated.
thanks.

Re: Reykjavik Restaurant
You should also try a tourist place that serves Icelandic food.
Watching their reactions while eating the buried for months rotten
shark meat is good fun, but watch out, you can choke on your own food
when laughing so hard.

Uhm.... from my (Icelandic) perspective, this looks a bit odd. This is
partly because it is not at all clear to me what you mean by "non
tourist type". Pretty much every restaurant in Reykjavík depends on
tourists to some degree - the exception probably being places like
'Múlakaffi', but I really doubt that is what you have in mind.
Also, what do you mean by "Icelandic menu"? What type of food are you
looking for? Traditional "Þorramatur"? Whale? (there are a few
places where you can get that). Lamb? Fish? (there are several good
fish restaurants, but all of them are more-or less tourist oriented. I
might recommend something like the 'Lauga-Ás', or one of the fancier
seafood places downtown, but you really need to clarify a bit better
what you are looking for.
