I'm planning a trip to Bucharest around Easter time. I would greatly
appreciate your impressions of the city and any special places you suggest I
visit.

Mike, you might want to refer to the Hike To Romania thread.
How long are you spending there? If it is more than 4 days, then I would
suggest you catch a train up to Brasov. It's a lot more tourist friendly,
and closer to the interesting stuff, like Bran Castle. The train line is
relatively good to get there.
Sighisoara seems to be everyone's favourite town, and Sibiu is nice too.
Sinaia has a cable car, which gives you good access to the Bucegi mountains.
I guess what I am saying is that Bucharest may give you a bad impression of
Romania. I heard they are building a big Dracula theme park there soon...
