Hi folks, I'm going to Athens and Turkey next week. I was wondering how
regular the ferries are this time of year between the islands. I was hoping
to visit Santorini and Mykonos or maybe Chania, Crete before heading to
Kusadasi. Does anyone know how long the ferry rides are between these
places? How long does it take to get to Santorini from Athens?
Also, does the ferry from Samos to Kusadasi only arrive in the evening? Is
there an overnight bus to Istanbul?
thanks in advance!

Rough guide:
Piraeus - Mykonos approx 5 hrs
Mykonos - Santorini approx 5 hrs
Piraeus - Santorini approx 10 hrs
Santorini - Heraklion approx 4 hrs (dunno about Chania)
That would be regular ferries. For high speed/catamaran/hydrofoil/whatever-
new-gadget-technology-they-have-this-year
about half the time, double
the fare. Nver take time tables at face value, i.e. don't plan tight. Allow
for 2 or 3 hrs delay, and that occasionally a scheduled ferry may be
cancelled completely.
Don't know much about ferries to Turkey, sorry.

I don't know as well but I would like to say it's very beautiful for the
voyage from Istanbul to Greece's islands. BTW, I worked on ships and
had chances to cross Aegean Sea whick is one of the most beautiful 'sea
area' around the globe.
