Poll: Your favorite airline?

A quick poll: what's your favorite airline (and why)? I was originally thinking of
limiting it to transatlantic airlines, but what the heck, let's say any airline is
fair game.
For example, my favorite used to be Lufthansa, but I've ben hearing some complaints
about them lately. Am curious to know what people look for in an airline these days
now that things are changing so rapidly--price? service? leg room?
Anything you have to say, please do!

10 years ago this would be a valid question. My personal opinion is that they're all
pretty much the same now.

I was very pleasantly surprised by a last minute 170UKP trip from Cardiff, Wales to
Sanford, Florida with Airtours. Helped by their use of an almost new Airbus.
I had previously made the trip from London Gatwick to Orlando MCO on a very old
Virgin 747.
The combination of the newer aircraft and smaller, regional airports made the whole
journey much less stressful.

Another good point. If someone else is paying, then I like BA because, as long as you
don`t misbehave, the trolley dollies give you as much to drink as you want. Plus, a
Daily Telegraph or similar.
(I flew home from Tbilisi, and the DT headline said "Surely, only someone who has
spent the last week on Mars can not have heard of the death of Princess Diana").
Well, It was news to me.. It`s nice to think that I have been to the nearest ethereal
place to Mars, anyway.
Swissair good too. And SAS. But not Cubana, Air Riga Express, TransAero or Aeroflot.
They`re another story..........

17 years ago it would have to be (wait for it) Ethiopian Airlines! Flew Addis Ababa -
London with the most knowlegeable pilot I've ever heard on an intercom! He pointed
out sites of interest en route (made the flight over Egypt above the Nile really
fascinating), the food was as good as airlines anywhere and the plane was a then
brand-new 767 extended range with some extra legroom. The cabin staff were not just
elegant, they were beautiful and dressed in national costume.
Nowadays I guess airlines have become much of a muchness - flew LHR - Boston on April
3rd, back on April 11th with BA - they bumped me up to World Traveller Plus outbound,
(nice!) but inbound I found accommodation cramped and uncomfortable.
I'll miss the little Sabena jets that did the direct flights Bristol-Brussels -
friendly service and I suspect extra legroom - important for me.

Out of Australia, Singapore Airlines. The service is always friendly, and the
seat-back videos are a plus for 12+ hour flights from SIN to Europe.
From Asia to Europe, SAS Business Class. I've only flown SAS in BC
(with their "split class" fares -- Economy on QF to Asia, BC on SK
to/from Europe), but enjoyed the "laid back" Scandinavian style.
Local flights, Virgin Blue -- service every bit as good as Qantas (or the late
Ansett), but way cheaper. I don't need a hot meal on a 2 hour BNE-SYD flight!
