Default Polish Village Slideshow

Slideshow of a beautiful village located in the Carpathian mountains
in Southern Poland, accompanied by excellent music. Enjoy!

That's a great video and a great song. I think the village isn't too
far from where my family comes from: Stary Wisnicz.

I see no difference between Siemiechow in southeast Poland and the
city Borat came from in Kazakhstan.
The resemblance, feeling and makeup of both are so allied, that if
someone made a movie about
Siemiechow, he'd be called Boring.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! :-) Stary Wisnicz is only 39
km West of Siemiechow....yes, quite close. Have you ever visited your
family's hometown yet? In adjacent Nowy Wisnicz there is a very large
and beautiful castle, one of the nicest in Poland, and so many other
attractions.

We too have a castle here in Pasadena. It's called White.

Eugene,
What a wonderful video...I loved listening to the polka music!
This is the music that I grew up listening to in Pennsylvania.

Hello again Jean! I also grew up listening to this music, in New York
City / New Jersey. What a great time I had dancing to it as well. :-)
Glad you enjoyed it!

I've been to both Stary Wisnicz and Nowy Wisnicz. Both were
beautiful, and I met some wonderful people.

Hi Eugene!
Then you are definitely are familiar with America's Polka King, Frankie
Yankovic...Although he was very popular, I much preferred the tempo and
style of the band playing on your video...I really like the more "peppy"
style where it is impossible to sit still! This was the style of the polka
music played at my wedding reception....My Dad's favorite was the
oberek...he had my Mom on the floor every time one was played!
My older sister is pressuring me into making another trip to Poland but
taking her with me ...she has never been and would like to go and see the
birthplaces of our parents...so we may just do that in May/June next
year..God willing!
Thanks again for the very enjoyable video!

Hello Jean!

Yes, I am familiar with Yankovic and most other bands. As with you, I
prefer the faster tempo and Polish style music. When I lived in New
York City, I attended several Polish festivals in nearby Pennsylvania
and danced until I dropped. Had a great time! If you decide to travel
to Poland next year, make sure you visit and stay with me for a while,
if possible. The invitation is open. :-)

Dropped what? Your dentures? Pants? A load? Dead? Be more specific and
I thank you for your attention.

As the time gets closer and more definite plans are made, I shall e-mail
you directly with many questions! We are hoping to take a tour for a week
of places that I'd like my sister to see...then spend a week on our own
during which time I hope to get a driver to take us to our parents' home
villages and churches.
Thanks for the invitation, Eugene!
