The "Micklegate Run" (Friday and Saturday night) is an ancient York
institution.

If you're between 17 and 25 and male, dress in a short-sleeved shirt
(whatever the weather or time of year) and traipse through the streets
from pub to pub making as much noise as possible.

If you're female (17-25) dress in as short a skirt as possible and
accompany menfolk (see above). Extra points for loud whoops and
hollers.

I think this is much better. According to www.multimap.com, it's a 3-hour
drive from York to Caernarfon. You could spend a couple nights in northern
Wales, then 2 more in the Cotswolds. I think you'll get a better feel for
the countryside at this pace.

Next time, go to Britain in the spring. Longer days, wonderfully green and
blooming countryside.

I thought the stag parties go to Eastern Europe. I didn't know the hen
parties went there also.

The front page of tallinnpissup.com (yes, that's the real name)
advertises the following "activities", so it's clear what market
they're after:

Dr Death's military academy
Dr. Death will train you in military guns, pump-action shotguns...

Demolition derby
Ram, roll and even blow-up old soviet wrecks...

Medieval lesbian strip show
Slap up banquet and 1-hour lap dancing medieval festival...

Hello and thanks. We live in the Seattle area and I've always heard
that our
climate is similar to that in the south of England. We tend to have
beautiful autumns here, and better weather than in spring. What can I
expect in terms of weather and scenery in late October in the UK? Is
there much "fall color"? Our trees are still in leaf until
mid-November most years.

In some countries, possibly, but "enjoyment" in the context of
travelling by rail in Britain would not be a description I recognize.

The most honest answer is that the climate here is unpredictable. I
stayed in North Wales for a few days in late October last year and the
weather varied from mild but very rainy to chilly with high winds (but
clear visibility).

Autumn Colours ........a week after getting back home from north Wales
I had a day out in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean (south
Wales/Gloucestershire borders) and with bright, clear sunshine the
colours were spectacular.

You might be lucky - you might not!

They go to Newcastle too.

In York it is more of a bring your own slapper thing.

driving through the welsh hills and into the cotswlds should be
enjoyable, especially if as suggested you have OS maps.

well, you could save as lot of time by not starting in Seattle :-) Its
a bit rushed, isnt it? Depending what you like, York easily fills the
day, I think I would stay there

pretty much the suggestion I just posted! If you happen to like steam
engines add more time York!
(Except you have ignored my don't start from Seattle idea)
