I was once on a Northern Line train in London that had been held
up for an hour after a suicide jump on the tracks. As a result
it was jampacked with two or three trainfuls of passengers. It
came to a stop in a station with a lot of shouting from another
carriage and didn't move for another half-hour. It turned out
that a woman had pulled the emergency cord because she thought
somebody had groped her bum. She didn't get a lot of sympathy
from anybody else on the train.

Perhaps because you are used to it. It sounds like it was a new experience for
the Channel 4 News presenter's bottom. The owner of the bottom found it quite
humiliating. I can't honestly say that if a woman pinched my bottom I would be
humiliated. I always saw it as one of the potential perks of travelling by
public transport.
