Hello all, I need to get as close as possible to Russell Street (nr Covent Garden) on
Friday night to take my not so young Mother to the theatre. Unfortunately she finds
the tube somewhat difficult to negotiate so I was wondering what parking was like in
that area? Are there any public car parks? Or some other place to park? Thanks Sean

Why don't you just get a taxi? The traffic will be terrible if you drive, and unless
you know your way around really well, finding any parking places you hear of could be
extremely tricky. There are also buses which are much easier to manage than the
tube......

Depending on where you are coming in to London from, I would park and get a cab. If you are coming in from the north east, east, or south east I would park in the City - near Liverpool Street Station (you may even find on-street parking there, perhaps in Finsbury Circus) and take a cab to the West End. If coming on the from the north or west, head for the Euston Road and park in the first multi-storey you find and take a cab.
Alternatively, the District line is a good tube service to use, it is close to the surface so there are no escalators to deal with. If you go to Charing Cross station covent garden is a very short cab ride from there.
