The ferry trip is overnight and really really unpleasant: pay
preposterous room prices or get no sleep. If I had to do it all over
again I would certaintly have flown into Athens.
I would also recommend flying to the islands from Athens. They are
frequent enough. I flew to Santorini and Crete and it was nice and
simple.

Can you relate driving in Italy to driving in Greece? I just got back
from Sicily, and while I avoided Palermo and Catania, I did drive
everywhere else. I am going to revisit Greece one day with a car and
would like any tips.
