Paris CDG to Orly transit question
Hi
I have an inner European flight next week via Paris with AirFrance. I
land in Paris and have to transit from CDG to Orly for the onward
flight. Is it possible, and does it make sense, to check the luggage
through, or should I check it in as far as CDG, and take it with me on
the bus to Orly?
TIA
T.

Does it make sense? No. I would imagine that if the baggage were being
checked through you wouldn't have to go to another airport. It's likely
that you have no option about picking up your luggage at CDG and taking it
with you to Orly. I suppose you could pay extra to have it shipped ahead
for you, but would probably be expensive and cause delays.

The transit is not so hard: from CDG, you can take a direct metro train (the
RER Line "B") and get off at Antony station for the transfer bus to ORY.
Whole trip shouldn't take more than 90 minutes.

Interesting.. I thought there was a direct shuttle between the two airports?

Of course if you use the RER it will take a long while to get the
tickets and you may never find the elevator to take your luggage down to
the track.

I'm taking the shuttle bus Roissy-Orly. (Ligne 3). I agree, all this
screwing around with buying tickets and changing trains is a waste of
time and nervous energy.

Never rode this bus - if it leaves from outside your arrival terminal and
stops in front of departures, then it's probably significantly less hassle
than taking the RER !
