Default Paris: Bank Holidays

Does anyone know if May 31, Whit Monday or Pentecote, is a bank
holiday in Paris? It's our "free day " in Paris and I am wondering
what will be closed.
thanks

Yes it is a holiday, like in much of Europe. Basically sights are open, as
are most restaurants and cafes/bars. Shops are closed. Very busy with
visitors and locals having a day off.

I believe that it is a bank holiday. Either the French national or the
Parisian official tourism site lists holidays, and May 31 is
among them.

My guess is that businesses and banks will be closed. I would
suggest checking museum sites for those details, if you care
about that. It may be that more museums are open, but it
could also be a crowded day if the locals are also going to
the museums.

It is. Btw, it still is, but it probably won't be next year, as it was
decided Monday of Pentecost won't be a bank holiday anymore.
Regarding what will be open, your question has already been answered. I
suppose everything that is likely to interest you will be open but it would
be even easier to answer if you were more specific.

ATMs should be open.
