In what way is not imposing the minority religious beliefs of a
conservative church on people tyranny?

Ah, that's a different question - you just asked "why take any
notice?" - and that I hope we all agree is something we should do
(take notice)

On this issue, we should unquestionably ignore their views as having
no merit whatsoever, but we should still listen before making that
decision.
