arranged some electrons, so they looked like this :
... Bush supporters are very much like a religious cult. Nothing rational
... makes any difference to them - Information doesn't matter, facts don't
... matter, the truth doesn't matter, lies don't matter, death tolls don't
... matter, destroyed economy doesn't matter. The leader is right because
... he's daddy and they love him and he can do no wrong. An acquaintance who
... visited referred to Bush and Chaney as her "honey boys". Picture me
... trying not to gag over my entrée...
FWIW, you have all my sympathy, Ellie. Hard to be a hostess, sometimes... ;)

Very important and accurate point.
It doesn't help that the leaders of the cult are about equally
divided between megalomaniacs and fundamentalist fanatics, a.k.a. the
U.S. cabinet.
I'm surprised that there isn't wider knowledge in the U.S. of the
Project for a New American Century, the neo-con think-tank group which
includes Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Cheney etc., among its members, and which
long before 9/11 had targeted a takeover of Iraq as its first objective
in extending the dominance of the American empire. Hence the bizarre
attack on an Iraq which was no threat and which had no connection with
9/11. The PNAC plans are certainly no secret, since their aims are
fully spelled out on their website -- or were the last time I looked.
Incidentally, isn't there a certain irony in Bush II's frequent
references to freedom and democracy when it's evident that the U.S. is
being run as a virtual dictatorship by a president whose own election is
still a matter of debate, and by a totally unelected (and in the case of
Ashcroft, unelectable) cabinet?

And all this time I thought I did. So this is all just a ruse - this
newsgroup, the dimwitted posts by this guy - all of it. All just a
plant, a fake, to trick me. It's all just to make it look like I'm on
the internet, but it's all just a trick. Probably by god. Sort of like
creationist "science".

Kong, but we're talking about Europe - have a higher percentage of the
population online than the US does.
