Wrong.

It shouldnt, the US debt is nothing like what happened in argentina.

And even someone as stupid as you should be able to
work out that the two economys are quite different too.

Only certain Schengen countries. The UK is not amongst them - you still
need a passport to fly out of the UK unless you happen to be resident in
one of the other Schengen countries and have the national ID card. And
even then many airlines require a valid passport as ID before they will
check you in and permit boarding.

The UK is *not* a Schengen country, that's why you need a passport.

Likewise north American travelers to most of the Caribbean.

Within Europe, yeah, I can imagine it, but from the USA?

Walking into Mexico is not flying:-)

It is totally inconsistent to have strict controls on Schengen air
passengers and not control cars.

Just to clarify, since this could be construed as meaning the UK is a
Schengen country. It isn't. The deal is that residents of other EU
countries, whther or not they are in the Schengen agreement, may use
national identity cards, rather than passports. If the British gov't carries
through its plan to introduce ID cards, they would be reciprocally
recognised by other EU countries.

We have taken Ryanair flights from Italy to London Stansted using
only our Italian national ID cards.

except large numbers of Brits are not of Anglo-Saxon (German via
England) origin, (celts, "vikings", normans etc) and vast numbers
of Americans are not of German or English origin, apart from that
its spot on.

Sounds like a sensible approach which you can do if you are in
demand and have built up a nest egg.
Its all rather odd, we (UK) poach nurses from poorer countries,
US poaches them from us. We should train more of our own nurses
and stop stripping small poor countries of theirs.
