Last August we flew Aeroflot, JFK to Moscow allowed a stopover in
Russia for 10 days and then on to Bangkok for $900.00 which we felt was
a great deal.
We are looking for something similar in eastern Europe other than
Moscow, maybe the Black Sea area. We would do Moscow/St Pete again if it
wasnt such a hassle with the expensive Visa. We loved St Petersburg.
Any suggestions?

9 years ago I flew Finnair from JFK to Bangkok with a stopover in
Helsinki. I don't remember the exact price, but it was relatively
inexpensive and Finnair didn't charge anything for the stopover. During
the stopover I visited St.Petersburg by train.

Yes, thank you, something like that...is what we need, I dont know how
expensive and interesting Helsinki may be...but I surely would want to
go there in July.

Not exactly Black Sea, but Malev flies nonstop from Budapest to both New
York and Bangkok. That might be worth looking into.
