I get to go from work to the airport today, to Miami, and get on Majesty of the
Seas tomorrow! whoo, hoo!
A special thanks to those who helped me, during the year, put together a
"Cruise Anticipation" gift for my friends who sailed with us. They loved it.
Peter Berlin, a special thanks to you; the t-shirt was a great hit, and the
menus were appreciated by the vegetarian half of the couple.
I hope by Monday, that my circle of friends will include new converts to
cruising.
I'll post a review pronto when I get home.

Ahhh, cruising - a floating hotel complex you can only leave for a few hours
at a time.

Because you get an enormous amount of variety, you don't need to
arrange your transportation or meals and you only need to unpack once.

But you'd sleep in the same bed everynight like you would at a resort
and you can select which cruise to go on so you can plan an itinerary.

If you've been on a cruise and don't like it, that's fine. Before I
went on my first cruise I never even considered going on one because I
thought I'd be wasting too much time on the ship. I only went because
it was a free trip. I was surprised - you spend 5 hours snorkeling at
Buck Island (St. Croix), or spending the day on a scooter on Rhodes -
you're ready to spend the rest of the evening sitting on the deck with
a mai tai. It's not my first choice for a vacation, but it's in the top
3.

For what its worth I interviewed a number of the passengers as
they returned to the ship in Gibraltar;
All reported that they had had a great time and would take another
cruise on the ship. The crew got praise for service and the
illness was exagerated greatly by the media.
Closing the frontier was an over-reaction, more aimed at punishing
the Gibraltarians than any sanitary measure, and there were no cases
of 'the runs' reported locally after the visit.
