My Visits to The Netherlands Indoor Waterpark Complexes
I visit two windoor waterpark complexes in The Netherlands recently and
this is what I found:
Two visited:
1. Centerparcs at Zandvoort, Euro12.00 to get in from 10-9 pm
2. Duinrell near The Hague, Euro $13.50 to get in from 5pm to 9 pm.
Both parks tout themselves as being very large waterparks Duinrell says
they are the largest in Europe) but in reality they are both
realatively small, both being smaller than a football field in total.
Both main pools are crap - they are like 1 meter or so deep and the
waves (when they turm them on) are just ok. Both have outdoor hot pools
but Zandvoort is way hotter. Duinrell is kind of chilly.
Centerparcs has one slide that is barely good. Duinrell is another
story. They have like 5 slides and these take your body like 100 km per
hour. I kid you not. It scared the life out of me. The only thing that
kept me together was the fact that1. Kids were going down them. 2. I
didn't see anyone dying. There's a sign that says any bathing suits
over 80% polyamide may disintergrate. For thrill seekers only!
Both parks were packed on a weekend day but the lines were not long.
The main pool was a bit crowded but it did not matter as I said above
both were crap.
Duinrell is good for a couple of hours of thrills. Centerparks is good
for am afternoon or evening with the family.
