Has anyone stayed at the Metropole recently?
I stayed there 20 years ago and the rooms were funky
with a nice lobby.
Thanks for your comments

Last time I was there was about5 years ago, but my impression was (like many
ex-grand hotels in Europe), was one of faded elegance - impressive public
rooms, but rather srcuffy bedrooms and facilities. It claims art deco
status, unfortunatly this is code for "t they haven't decorated for a long
time " - The Savoy in London also falls in this category

The more expensive rooms are nice. Can't vouch for the other ones. They
renovated a whole floor a while back.
