How cheap is cheap? There are the usual chain hotels like Ibis, and
Michelin lists some inexpensive places, both near the center of town. Is 55
euro cheap enough?

Not sure if Versailles would be cheap. Isn't that the place with the big palace? If so, it looked very tourist. I would say 55euro would be very reasonable if it had a private bathroom.
There's two train station near by. 1 is like 2 or so blocks from the Palace. Maybe you can stay just outside of Versaille and take the RER train. Just a thought.

Not sure if Versailles would be cheap. Isn't that the place with the big palace? If so, it looked very tourist. I would say 55euro would be very reasonable if it had a private bathroom.
There's two train station near by. 1 is like 2 or so blocks from the Palace. Maybe you can stay just outside of Versaille and take the RER train. Just a thought.

with www.mappy.com I found CHEAP accomodation near Versailles less
than 40 EUR (not fancy, but ok ) ... Thanks, anyways ;-)
