Default Hotels in Paris when travelling with children

Hi

We're a norwegian family with 2 kids (6 and 8 years) that will be going to
Paris for some days next month.

We want to spend 2 days in the Disney parks but also want to be able to
easily get around in the city.

Are there any areas in particular where it could be nice to bring the
children in Paris? Hotels ??

With regards Terje

The Disneyland hotels are excellent for children. You can still get into
town on the RER. It depends on how much of your stay will be spent in
Paris, and how much will be spent at Disneyland.

We stayed at a nice hotel that had family rooms for about 120E. It was the
Hotel du Palais Bourbon, about 1 and 1/2 blocks from an RER station, and an
equal distance from a small park with a playground. This hotel is in the 7
eme, and it would be a good choice in the center of Paris.

Hi Terje,

We are in a situation very similar to yours. We are planning to be in
Paris & Disneyland in early July with 2 kids (ages 13 and 3). We are
also planning to spend 2 days in Disneyland (maybe 1 if it's too
crowded/boring) and a couple of days around the city. I've been
following this newsgroup and doing a lot web searching for a hotel,
and at this point (which is still not final) the hotel of our choice
is Villages Hotel in Noisy le Grand. It's a budget hotel offering
family rooms for around 40 EUR per night and located halfway between
Paris and Disneyland within walking distance of a RER station.
Now, all I know about this hotel is what I've found at the web site -
www.villages-hotel.com - so I can't really speak of any personal
experience of it.
If you can share any of your impressions after you come back from your
trip (including a hotel recommendation) in this newsgroup, I will
certainly greatly appreciate it.

Best wishes and good luck for your trip!

given the kids -- I would not want to 'tour Paris' after a long train
ride from the boondocks. you will be burning up your travel energy just
getting there. I'd sure look for something in the heart of the city
for the time you wish to spend there. Commuting a long distance to 'see
Paris' is tiring and wastes time on any trip -- but with kids,
particularly a 3 year old, it seems foolhardy to me.

What about the BB Hotels. They are cheap and clean http://www.hotel-bb.com
They have one in Paris-Malakoff on Metro Line 13 and close to the
Peripherique. I haven´t stayed there but have booked for 2 nights in June
however colleagues who have stayed there say they are decent enough hotels.
No room service or 24hrs reception desks or suchlike however.

Jenn,
'Touring' Paris is not really our objective. We - the parents - have
been up and down the city before and have a full idea of the amount of
energy it takes. All we want to do in Paris proper is to basically
show them some landmarks and just call it over whenever their energy
runs out. The RER system in Paris is very efficient in my opinion.
Even though it looks like we're staying in the boondocks it's only a
20-minute direct train ride straight to the heart of the city. So
we're sober in our expectations and quite optimistic.
