Default Hotel Booking web-site

Hi there!
I'm looking for a web-site for I can search for hotels over a certain
time period to compare prices at different times. I'm planning a trip
to Edinburgh and other parts of Scotland some time in July but the
exact days are pretty flexible so I'd like to try and choose dates that
give the best value. Any ideas?
Cheers
Jeff

I have used:

http://www.venere.com/

...and it's good. I don't know of any that specialise in Scotland
though.

I, too, have used venere and been satisfied with them.

More often I use http://www.tripadvisor.com/ . It triggers a number of
booking sites, and you can find different terms for the same
accommodation.

It's the height of the tourist season and except at backpacker hostels
you will have bugger-all choice in Edinburgh (B&Bs will almost all be
booked up already). Other parts of Scotland will be a lot easier.

In theory visitscotland should be helpful but in practice they're crap.
I just use Google and look at each listing individually the hard way.
If you're set on a particular small town (say, Pitlochry-sized) there
aren't going to be that many options.

Neither of these recommends my (and Barbara's) favoured choice for
Rome. Damn. (

There must be a decent search engine for minimalists out there.
