Hello, I am a 35-year-old female traveler. I am interested to know what hostels in
London you would recommend, considering price, location, and "niceness" (for
September and October).

Speaking for myself, 48 year old American female. I've used the Euston Station area
for a couple of reasons. I've used both the Euston Travel Inn, and the Euston
Thistle, and for as close to the station and looks as nice, I would think the Euston
Ibis would do as well. I've shared a room with a friend and stayed alone. Euston is
a busy place with plenty of people around, and by being careful and not doing
anything stupid, even when I've been out and about alone at night, I've returned to
my hotel without any fear while walking from the Euston Station to my hotel(s).
rice, well, "around" 70 pounds per night during July/August, clean, and typical
amenities. As far as location it's not right in the middle of the city, but as my
friend travels into the city to St. Pancras station it's very convenient for her, and
if I'm using the train to get to her. Euston Thistle was perhaps a bit
"nicer/fancier" looking than the Euston Travel Inn, but I can't say as the look made
much difference to me. As a matter of fact I prefer the Travel Inn as it has a
heater towel bar, a wonderful item to dry clothes over night!! I think more than
anything I'm "use" to the area, and quite comfortable traveling around London after
staying in that area for the last 5 years. Hope this gives some insight. Gloria

The Euston sounds like a hotel or B&B, not a hostel.

As a former Londoner/Brit, I can tell you that neither the Thistle or Ibis are hostels. They are hotels, each part of chains of the same names.
I think the original poster is looking for something along the lines of a Youth Hostel. I would suggest looking for the Youth Hostel Association website and looking at its London locations.
Depending on how "street smart" the original poster considers herself, I would suggest staying away from the Kings Cross/St. Pancras areas and possibly the Earls Court area.
