Default Help me pick 7 London shows!

I have 7 nights in London In July and would love to watch a show every
night. Help me pick 7 from:-

My Fair Lady
Mousetrap
Woman in Black
Les Miserables
Reduced Shakespeare Company- Complete Works of Shakespeare
Mamma Mia (I have watched this in the US and LOVED the show and would
not mind watching it again)
Richard III (at the Globe Theater)
Midsummer Night's Dream (open air theatre at Regent Park)
Stones in his Pockets
Bombay Dreams
Bombitty of Errors

Are there any that I must watch and aren't on this list??

Thanks!

I haven't been to any of these, but if it helps here's a brief summary
of recent reviews in Time Out:

    >My Fair Lady
"Refreshed with a third cast - a treat - quality escapism"

    >Mousetrap
Not reviewed.

    >Woman in Black
"Spooky set and chilling story produce a pleasurable ripple of fear"

    >Les Miserables
"Easy melodies, emotional lyrics, virtuous paupers, obvious villains and
seamless scenes" - nothing specific to this particular production,
though.

    >Reduced Shakespeare Company- Complete Works of Shakespeare
"Spontaneity which might once have driven such a lazy and perfunctory
exercise is long gone"

    >Mamma Mia (I have watched this in the US and LOVED the show and would
    >not mind watching it again)
"A licence to print Money, Money, Money"

    >Richard III (at the Globe Theater)
Not reviewed.

    >Midsummer Night's Dream (open air theatre at Regent Park)
Not reviewed - but if you go be sure to bring a cushion and very warm
clothing! A flask of something hot to drink might also be useful.

    >Stones in his Pockets
"Awe inspiring repertoire"

    >Bombay Dreams
"Story fails to deliver big-hearted emotions at every turn - too many
incidents and ancient, misplaced jokes - real excitement at the sight of
a stage packed with Asian performers - at its best the choreography
unexpectedly shifts from sinuous sensuality to a hard-edged rhythmic
beat - ravishing score really hits the spot - a pity that it's not
matched by dialogue, lyrics or production"

    >Bombitty of Errors
Not reviewed yet.

Also playing at the moment are:
Fame - the Musical (Aldwych)
Our House (Cambridge)
We Will Rock You (Dominion)
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (London Palladium)
The Lion King (Lyceum)
Jerry Springer - The Opera (National Theatre, Lyttelton)
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (New London)
Cliff the Musical (Prince of Wales)
Contact (Queen's)
Stomp (Vaudville)
Grease (Victoria Palace)
Abigail's Party (Whitehall)

Time Out critics' choices are:
Hitchcock Blonde (Royal Court)
Faster (Battersea Arts Centre)
The Nest (Arcola)
Scenes from a Big Picture (National, Cottesloe)
Three Sisters (Playhouse)

If you want something topical, though, why not try:
The Madness of George Dubya (Arts)
or
The Flu Season (The Gate)

Taboo ... really enjoyed it. and Boy George is I believe still playing the
part of Leigh Bowery.
Have heard that Bombay Dreams is like a bad amateur production.

    :>Stones in his Pockets

Saw it in NYC. Overly melodramatic, banal and obvious. Its value lies
only in the acting skills of the two performers.

    : Contact (Queen's)

You must see this. Go to the TKTS booth in Leicester Sq, get half-price
tickets (in the first few rows of the stalls) and be thoroughly
entertained.

    : Grease (Victoria Palace)

Go on a Monday, buy the cheapest seats (or get half-price seats at TKTS)
and sit anywhere you like in the theater. It will be about 1/3 full.
Go to the pub across the street after the show and have a pint with the
cast members. Careful, though, you may not recognize them out of '50s
costume.

Too bad the ENO season is over (or about to be). You can get two fourth
or fifth row seats for world-class operas for about US $50 at the TKTS
booth. Stunning performances, magical evenings. When you consider that
similar seats at Covent Garden would set you back in the hundreds of US
dollars, it's the bargain of the year. Only drawback - it's in English,
but the music is still world-class.

Heehee.

A Canadian friend who's seen it said it was one of the best things she'd
ever seen (and she does theatre almost every night on her visits to
London - she took me to Swan Lake by Adventures in Moving Pictures
once). That was two or three years ago, so it probably had a different
pair of performers. Trivia: I used to work in the building next door to
the theatre it's showing in.

Further to my earlier post - I've been to a couple of productions at the
open air theatre (The Tempest and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to
the Forum - both excellent), but immediately behind the stage are
several large trees, and when the wind blows the rustling of leaves
drowns out the dialogue. Worth a visit despite this. And the bar opens
late (at least it did on my last visit).

If I were you, I wouldn't hesitate to choose from the list:
- Mousetrap.... because I haven't seen it until now,
- Les Miserables.... because I saw it in London and loved the performance
(sentimental like hell... but why not???),
- Richard III (at the Globe Theater) ... Globe Theatre and Shakespeare -
just a must no doubt...
- Midsummer Night's Dream (open air theatre at Regent Park) ... that open
air theatre and Shakespeare's play played in a classical manner... a must
too, especially when in London (the breaks are especially exciting....)...
but remember to dress very warm

The rest is... up to you... and the advisors in the group I suppose

BTW... I envy you, 7 shows in London... wow

Jurek (so far from London shows)

I am a great fan of the Open Air Theater in R.P. Dress warm, carry an
umbrella, go extra early if you want to eat the buffet, or head right to the
burger grill at the opposite end, and get a quick burger. Or take a
picnic....

You will love it.

The performances at the open air theatre are held twice daily--once in
the afternoon(around 2.30) and then again at night(8-ish). Have you
ever been there for the afternoon performance? Would you recommend it
as much as the one at night?

Well for a guy there is little selection;

if the show is to me, instead of a date
I would choose 125th Street (pretty much R&B concert
with some silly story to tie up the songs).
Lion King (Still running?) and Blood Brothers are next
best choices for a "real" show.

Pretty much all the rest is chick flicks.

Yup, seconded. Be forewarned though, you should have some knowledge
from the Queen era and also world at change of 70-80's. If not, some
of the jokes will be impossible to catch.
